  16 Days Itinerary  

Day 1, 01/06/96 (Sat)  Kuala Lumpur-Guangzhou-Chengdu

7.30am  Assemble at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah International Airport, Subang for flight to Guangzhou by MH54 (0930-1335).  Upon arrival you will be met by a local guide.  Lunch in local restaurant in Guangzhou.  Transfer to domestic airport for connecting flight to Chengdu, SZ4306 (1745-2000).  Upon arrival, check-in to Sing Joo Hotel and dinner is provided at a local restaurant.

Day 2, 02/06/96 (Sun)  Chengdu - Le Shan

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 7am.  At 8am, proceed to Le Shan via coach (3-4hrs). Lunch in Le Shan upon arrival at about 12pm.  After lunch, board cruise to visit the Great Buddha (about 1 hr).  Overnight in Le Shan.  Free after dinner.

Day 3, 03/06/96 (Mon)  Le Shan - EMei

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 7am.  At 8am, proceed to EMei Shan via coach (1.5 hrs). Reach the top of EMei by cable car.  Visit the JinTing (Golden Hall) and the Hua Zhang Temple. Lunch at Hua Zhang Temple or descend the summit for lunch.  On way down the mountain, visit Wan Nian Temple where the statue of the Po Shen Boddhi is located.  Proceed to Bao Guo Temple, where you can see the seven symbols of Buddha from the past, present and future.  Return to hotel after dinner.  Overnight in Xiong Siew Hotel.

Day 4, 04/06/96 (Tues)  EMei - Chengdu - Tai Yuan

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 7am.  At 8am, return to Chengdu via coach (4 hrs). Lunch in Chengdu.  After lunch, visit Wu Hou Si and Du Fu's cottage.  Dinner in Chengdu.  After dinner, transfer to the airport for flight to Tai Yuan GP7402 (2050-2250).  Overnight in Hai Tang Hotel.

Day 5, 05/06/96 (Weds)  Tai Yuan - Wu Tai 

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 6.30am.  At 7am, proceed to Wu Tai Shan (6 hrs).  After lunch, visit Xian Tong Si (biggest temple in Wu Tai), Pu Sa Ding (108 stairs), Bi Shan Si, Pu Hua Si and other temples. Overnight in Xi Xian Hotel.

Day 6, 06/06/96 (Thurs)   Wu Tai 

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 6.30am.  At 7am, proceed to Dailuo Ding by riding horses (own expense) or walk the 1008 stairs.  In the afternoon, visit Fou Mu Tong (Buddha Cave) either on horse back (20 mins) (at own expense) or walk across two ridges (about 45 mins).  Overnight in Xi Xian Hotel.

Day 7, 07/06/96 (Fri)   Wu Tai - Da Tong

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 6.30am.  At 7am, proceed to Da Tong en route visiting Syuan Kon Si (Hanging Temple) and the Yn Province Wooden Pagoda, the only surviving wooden pagoda in China.  Overnight in Yuan Gang Hotel.

Day 8, 08/06/96 (Sat)  Da Tong - Beijing

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 7am.  At 8am, proceed to Yun Kang Grottoes, one of the four Grottoes in China.  After lunch, visit upper and lower Hua Yian Si and the Nine Dragon Wall.  After dinner transfer to railway station for night train to Beijing T331. Overnight in night train with berth.

Day 9, 09/06/96 (Sun)  Beijing

Arrive in Beijing in the morning. After breakfast, proceed to Tian An Men Square and the Mao's Memorial Hall, visit China's largest Imperial Garden - the Summer Palace and the Forbidden City.  Acrobatic Show and Beijing Duck Dinner at night. Overnight in Wu Zhou Hotel.

Day 10, 10/06/96 (Mon)   Beijing - Wu Han

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 6.30am.  At 7am, proceed to the Great Wall - the only man-made structure visible from the moon.  Visit the Temple of Heaven and the Ming Tomb.  The imperial burial place of thirteen Ming Emperors and underground palace in the afternoon.  After dinner, transfer to airport for flight to Wu Han CZ3136 (1945-2140).  Overnight in Hou Wan Hotel in Wuhan.

Day 11, 11/06/96 (Tues)  Wu Han - Shashi

Morning call at 6am.  Breakfast at 7am.  At 8am, proceed to Sha Shi, upon arrival, go for city tour of Sha Shi, visit Huang Si Loke and Hui Yean Si.  After dinner, board cruise "Xing Yue".   Overnight on board cruise.

Day 12, 12/06/96 (Weds)   Xi Ling Xia (Xi Ling Gorge)

Visit the renown Ge Zhou Dam and the construction site of the world famous three Gorges Dam.  Sail through Xi Ling Gorge to the Wu Xia (Wu Gorge). Overnight on board cruise.

Day 13, 13/06/96 (Thurs)  Wu Xia (Wu Gorge)

Travel through Wu Xia (Wu Gorge). Stop at Danning River and take a boat ride to the Little Three Gorges.  Enter the Qu Tang Gorge in the evening. Overnight on board cruise.

Day 14, 14/06/96 (Fri)   Qu Tang Xia (Qu Tang Gorge)

Arrive Fong Tu, full day tour of City of Hades (Ghost City).  Will visit a cave if there is time.Overnight on board cruise.

Day 15, 15/06/96 (Sat)   Chongqing - Guangzhou

Cruise reach Chongqing in the morning at about 9am.  Brief city tour.  After lunch, transfer to the airport for flight to Guangzhou via CZ3414 (1515-1740).  After dinner, check-in to hotel.  Overnight in Furama Hotel.

Day 16, 16/06/96 (Sun)  Guangzhou - Kuala Lumpur

After breakfast, free for last minute shopping.  After lunch, transfer to airport for return flight to Kuala Lumpur via MH55 (1505-1910).
