  • Cremation or burial
  • Monk – to conduct the last rite
  • Offer robes and requisites
  • Transfer of merit – ‘Dakkhinodoka’
  • Sealing of casket – pay last respect to the departed
  • Lifting it on the hearse – face the casket
  • Funeral Procession – orderly and silent
  • Family members – walk behind the hearse
  • Contemplation on impermanence of life
  • Participants – radiate Loving Kindness (Metta)
